The North Olympic Library System is the place for special events and activities for all ages and interests. The Library sponsors storytimes and reading readiness programs for children, film showings, author visits, and community information programs, library orientations and tours and much more. Library meeting rooms are used regularly by local groups such as clubs and non-profits for presentations, lectures and other programs. Connect with your community at the Library!

Second Saturday Science

Saturday, May 18 at 1pm
Sequim Branch Library

The Second Saturday Science series—for ages 7 to 12—creates fun, hands-on opportunities for children to explore concepts related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Registration is required due to space limitations.

Novel Conversations Book Discussion Group

Novel Conversations is a monthly book discussion group fostering dialogue around works of fiction and nonfiction, exploring world literature in a round-table setting. The Novel Conversations Book Discussion Group meets at 4pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Sequim Branch Library meeting room.

Wednesday Evening Book Discussion Group

The Wednesday Evening Book Group reads both fiction and nonfiction titles. The group meets at 6:30pm on the fourth Wednesday of every month in the Coffey Room at the Port Angeles Main Library. Attend as often as you wish. Drop-ins are always welcome.

Shred Event

Choose privacy by bringing your personal documents for confidential shredding in exchange for a donation in support of the Port Angeles Food Bank. Donations are not required to participate and all community members are welcome.

Art in the Library – Sequim

The current Sequim Art in the Library exhibit features the art of Jeannine Chappell, and will be on display through June 3. Chappell’s art combines images created on paper using watercolors, pencils and pastels, and then edited in Photoshop.

Art in the Library – Port Angeles

The spring Art in the Library exhibit will feature abstract photography by Bob Schlechter and Ben Stanley, and fractal prints by Gary Allen Smith. This exhibit will be on display at the Port Angeles Main Library from April 26 through July 23.

Storytimes

NOLS offers weekly storytimes September through May. Other special storytimes are offered throughout the year at each branch. Library storytimes create critically important early literacy opportunities for young children and their parents or caregivers.
