Looking for a fun indoor activity for the kids? Bring them to the library to create and play at monthly Build It! programs. Kids will be encouraged to let their imaginations run free while they construct their own creations using LEGO® bricks.

Build It! programs will take place in the Port Angeles Main Library’s living room and the Sequim Branch Library’s meeting room, and will be facilitated by library staff. Participants will be encouraged to write a story about their creation, which will be photographed during the program. Parents or caregivers are asked to accompany all children under 8 years old. All materials will be provided. LEGO® bricks and creations will remain in the library at the conclusion of each program.

Research shows that creative play is important in the development of reading and critical thinking skills. Libraries from around the country offer programs using LEGO® bricks to encourage young people and families to play and build together.

The NOLS LEGO® collection was built with the generous support of the North Olympic Library Foundation, the Port Angeles Friends of the Library, Friends of Sequim Library, the Girl Scouts of Western Washington, and brick donations from library patrons. If you wish to make a LEGO® donation to the Library, please contact Jennifer Knight at jknight@nols.org or call 360.417.8500 x7733.
