All NOLS locations offer community meeting rooms for public use. Use of Library meeting rooms is free to non-profit and community groups for qualifying meetings and programs that are open to the public.
Educator Cards allow an extended check out period of 42 days for materials (except DVDs and Interlibrary Loans), and do not incur overdue fines. Materials checked out to an educator card cannot be renewed and charges for lost and damaged items still apply.
The Library offers many services and resources for people with disabilities. In Port Angeles, services include electric scooters and a computer with a magnifying screen for people with vision impairments. All branches have large print materials and audio books.
In 1970, Bert Kellogg donated a collection of over 5,000 photos and negatives from the late 19th and early 20th centuries to the North Olympic Library System. Mr. Kellogg worked for 30 years copying and restoring photos.
For a limited time, the North Olympic Library System is partnering with Washington State Library to offer free Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification exams as a part of the Microsoft Imagine Academy program.

The NOLS Grows Seed Library is a seed exchange kiosk, stocked with small, pre-packaged quantities of free vegetable seeds and other educational materials related to gardening, growing, and seed-saving.

Public computers are available at all NOLS libraries. 15 minute express stations provide quick and easy Internet access. Full service stations allow patrons to go online, use Microsoft applications including Word and Excel and print to NOLS printers.
