  • Battle of the Books 2022

    December 30, 2021 – The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is excited to announce the 2022 Battle of the Books! Battle of the Books is a collaborative project between NOLS and schools in Clallam County, including homeschool students. Starting in February, Library staff will hold monthly book chats with fourth-grade students, including an after school discussion group via Zoom.   • Drinking water and toilets provided at Clallam Bay Library during emergency. Library seeking community donations for residents.

    November 19, 2021 – Drinking water and Sani-Can portable restrooms are presently available at the North Olympic Library System’s (NOLS) Clallam Bay Branch Library. Water is available via water bottles or via a Clallam PUD water truck. Each person can pick-up six water bottles daily. Residents should bring their own water receptacles to utilize the water truck. At this time, the water truck and portable restrooms should remain available daily 24/7. Water bottles will be available between 10am and 4pm, Monday through Sunday, until water service is restored to Clallam Bay. Read Full Article

    October 11, 2021 – The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) and the Juan de Fuca Foundation for the Arts (JFFA) are collaborating to celebrate the Day of the Dead, a traditional holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and parts of the United States which honors and remembers friends and family members who have passed on.     October 4, 2021 – All libraries in the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) will be closed on Thursday, October 14 to allow staff to attend an in-service training day.   • NOLS Expands Hours & Services, Ends Curbside Service

    July 13, 2021 – Since mid-June, the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) has gradually expanded in-library services and hours, and has phased-out Curbside Service. Limited seating and tables have returned to each branch, newspapers are available again, and public computer access has been expanded. When statewide restrictions for public libraries were lifted on June 30, NOLS dropped its reduced building capacity and time limits. Read Full Article

  • Email Scam Warning

    April 1, 2021 – The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) has been made aware of several instances of local residents receiving emails incorrectly stating a person owes money to the Library. These emails are SPAM and no one should click on the links provided within them, or reply to the sender. These emails were phishing attacks and not associated with NOLS in any way. Read Full Article

  • Sequim Branch Library Recommended for $2 Million Grant

    March 26, 2021 – In June 2020, the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) applied for the Library Capital Improvement Program Grant administered by the Washington State Department of Commerce. The funding would help correct pressing facility issues at the Sequim Branch Library; issues which have been exacerbated by the effects of COVID-19. In October 2020, NOLS was notified that its application was selected as a recommended project, ranked 5th out of 33 applications, with recommendation for full funding of the project.
