Forks, WA – The Forks Branch Library, 171 S. Forks Ave., is hosting a free job skill series, “Intro to Phone Sales,” for participants to explore a remote sales career path and enhance their skills. Kat Jack will teach four 90-minute courses that focus on her Phone Sales Playbook, which will be provided to all participants.
The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is excited to announce that it now offers free notary service for library card holders by appointment at the Clallam Bay and Forks libraries. This service is designed to assist residents in these rural areas where accessing notary services can be particularly challenging.
The Port Angeles Main Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., is offering a new Homeschool Hangout program from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 15 through Dec. 8. The free program gives participants a chance to meet new friends and explore games, art projects, STEM and more. The weekly activities are geared toward grades K-6, but all family members are welcome. Children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Forks Ave., is offering a free cultural program, “History and Taste: Tamales,” on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 5-7 p.m. Learn about the rich history of tamales, their roots in Indigenous cultures, and how different regions and families have created unique recipes passed down through generations.
The Sequim Branch Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave, will screen a short film highlighting first-person accounts of the attacks on 9/11 and their aftermath, followed by a discussion. This free event begins at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 11. Featured in the film are Richard Eichen who helped his colleague evacuate from the 90th floor of the North Tower; Terri Tobin, an NYPD lieutenant who continued rescue efforts after surviving the collapse of the South Tower; and the adult children of 9/11 victims FDNY Lieutenant Kevin Dowdell, PAPD Officer Donald McIntyre and Cantor Fitzgerald employee Anthony Perez.
Beginning Sept. 14, the Forks Branch Library, 171 S. Forks Ave., will offer Bad Art Night for Adults on the second Monday of each month, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The free event provides an opportunity to be creative without any pressure or expectation of how an art piece should look. This program is designed for adults, but children are welcome with supervision.
Storytime returns to the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) after Labor Day. The free events are geared toward ages 5 and under, and promote early literacy skills and community building through engaging songs, rhymes and stories. Parents and caregivers can enjoy time with their child while building foundational skills for reading success.
As the school year begins, the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) offers teens an opportunity to get involved beyond the classroom. The library’s Teen Advisory Board and teen volunteer program help students in grades 7-12 build leadership skills, earn service hours and make a difference in their community.
