Free “Balance for Seniors” classes at Forks and Clallam Bay libraries

West End branches of the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) invite community members to free, interactive “Balance for Seniors: How to Avoid Falls” classes in early April. Instructor SharonAnn Hamilton, author of “Balance for Seniors: How to Avoid Falls that Can Kill You or Worse,” will share valuable insights and practical advice to help attendees stay safe and confident while navigating their homes and communities.

Free spring break coding camp at Port Angeles Main Library

Registration is open at NOLS.org/events for a free spring break camp for ages 10-12, hosted by the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) in partnership with Peninsula College. Tweens can bring their ideas to life with basic coding skills at “Spring into Coding: Scratch Quest Creators,” from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, March 30, through Wednesday, April 1, at the Port Angeles Main Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

Crossword Competitions at the Port Angeles Main Library

The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) will host quarterly Crossword Competitions at the Port Angeles Main Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. The contests begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, March 26, June 25, Sept. 24 and Dec. 17. Competitors can participate individually or in teams of two, racing to complete three puzzles accurately. Those attending on their own may meet a new teammate at the event.

Free sticker art activity for tweens at West End libraries

Tweens in grades 4-6 are invited to free Sticker Creation events at West End branches of the North Olympic Library System (NOLS). In these interactive sessions, participants can create colorful masterpieces with a “paint-by-number” style activity using stickers instead of paint. All supplies are provided. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own stickers to exchange with each other.

Sequim Library to Open March 21

The new Sequim Library, located at 630 N. Sequim Ave., will open to the public Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community members are invited to stop by to explore the new building, sign up for library cards and check out materials. Additional services and programs will roll out in the coming weeks, including reservations for study and meeting rooms. A community celebration is planned for later this summer.
