Since opening this spring, the new Sequim Library has been buzzing. Visits are up by about 20%, and checkouts and renewals are steadily increasing—reaching nearly 28,000 items in July alone. We are also seeing many new faces, with 1,230 people signing up for a library card.
Thank you again to our building project donors, the Friends of Sequim Library, the North Olympic Library Foundation, and all of our supporters, from longtime patrons to new cardholders. You are the reason our community stays connected to vital library services and information resources.
Contractors are still working on a few finishing touches. The good news? Most of the work is happening behind the scenes, and it hasn’t slowed us down one bit!
We’ve been busy hosting a record-breaking Summer Reading Program, welcoming our tiniest patrons to Baby Playdate, offering presentations in our meeting rooms, and continuing to be a hub for creativity, connection, and learning.
Stay tuned for details about a big party we’re planning for spring 2027, when we can celebrate the new Sequim Library’s 1st birthday in style!
