Carver Room South – Port Angeles Main Library

Reservations can be made for meeting rooms at Port Angeles, Sequim, Forks, and Clallam Bay libraries. Scroll down to select a branch, then explore available rooms.

Study rooms are available in Port Angeles and Sequim. Most study rooms are available for walk-in use only, for up to 2 hours. One study room is available to reserve in Sequim.

Meeting room reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis and should be made at least one week in advance but no later than 24 hours prior to the event. Walk-in reservations are not available for meeting rooms.

Time for staff setup and breakdown is automatically added to meeting room reservations and is highlighted in the yellow boxes when making a reservation. This time is reserved exclusively for staff use and is not available for meeting room users.

You will be notified when your request is received. A second notice will be sent within two business days to confirm your reservation.

Library policy and room capacity limits must be followed during meeting room use.

1. Scroll down to select a branch, then explore available rooms. (Alternatively, you can visit reserve.nols.org/reserve and use the “choose branch” data filter.)

2. Select the desired room and reservation date using the date filter tools.

3. Select the time from the room booking timeline. The pale green blocks will indicate that the room is open for those hours. To make your reservation request, click on the timeline blocks where you want to start and end the reservation. After selecting a time, the blocks will turn dark green and you will see the details for the room booking, including the reservation time, room description, included resources, location, room size, capacity, and setup and breakdown times for the room. If you attempt to make a booking at an unavailable time the overlapping blocks will appear red.

4. Click the “Choose” button and enter your NOLS library card number to continue to the reservation form. Fill out the reservation form. You will see the details of your booking at the top of the page.

5. Finalize the booking by clicking the “Reserve” button. Once you make the request you will see a confirmation message that says “Reservation of this room required approval. Your reservation is pending review.” On this screen you will see a link to a page where you can manage you room reservations. reserve.nols.org/myreservations.You will also receive an email confirming your reservation.

6. After your room booking has been approved or denied by staff, you will receive an email. If approved, you will get another reminder email the day before your reservation date.

A library card is required to reserve any meeting or study rooms.

Meeting Rooms Booking Guidelines

  • Daily Limit: 1 booking per patron
  • Duration: 30 minutes minimum – 12 hours maximum
  • Advance Notice: Book between 1 and 90 days in advance
  • Cancellations: Must be made at least 24 hours prior

Study Room Booking Guidelines

  • Weekly Limit: 2 bookings and 4 hours total per week
  • Duration: 15 minutes minimum – 2 hours maximum
  • Advance Notice: Book between 1 and 14 days in advance
  • Cancellations: Must be made at least 24 hours prior
Free Use Eligibility: Library meeting rooms are free of charge to groups or individuals meeting all the following criteria. Learn more about free use in Policy 4.9.

  • The group or organization sponsoring the event must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit group and/or an individual or group that is community based. Determination of whether a group or individual meets these criteria rests with the Library Director or designee.
  • The event or meeting for which the room is being used must be educational, cultural, civic, intellectual, charitable and/or community related, and indisputably not commercial in nature.
  • Meetings/events/programs must be open to all persons who wish to attend, within the maximum allowed capacity of the space. Mere willingness to allow non-members to attend a meeting or event, the underlying purpose of which is primarily private or limited in scope, does not constitute compliance with this requirement.
  • With the exception of Library sponsored, or co-sponsored events, no fees or donations may be solicited or collected for admission to, or participation in, any such program, meeting or event, nor may any sales be conducted, or any business conducted which is entrepreneurial in nature or likely to be monetarily profitable for the sponsoring individual, group, or organization at a later date.

Rental Fees for Other Users: Individuals or organizations not able to meet the criteria for free use of Library meeting rooms are eligible to rent Library meeting rooms for a fee. Rental Fees for Meeting Rooms, as approved by the Board of Trustees, can be found below.

Port Angeles Main Library

The Raymond Carver Room has a capacity of 95 people seated, 200 standing. It has mobile tables and dozens of chairs. Smaller groups up to 45 seated, 95 standing, should reserve half of the room, either Carver Room South (which includes most AV equipment) or Carver Room North. Here is a list of equipment available.

The Margaret Coffey Room has a capacity of 12 people seated. It has mobile tables, chairs, and a white board that can be arranged however the user would like. Here is a list of equipment currently available in the room, including a TV to display presentations, etc. The Coffey Room can only be used during library hours.

Sequim Branch Library

The James and Agnes Williams Conference Room has a capacity of 9 people seated. It includes a conference table set up with easy-to-use technology available. Here is a list of equipment currently available in the room. Learn more about fees and charges.

The Janet Littlefield Study Room has a capacity of 4 people seated. It is available for individual use (interviews, telehealth appointments, virtual calls), tutoring or small group meetings. Here is a list of equipment currently available in the room.

The Jim and Nikki Klahn Community Meeting Room has a capacity of 35 people seated. It has mobile tables and dozens of chairs arranged however the user would like. Here is a list of equipment currently available in the room. Learn more about fees and charges.
