This summer, Hoch Construction and their subcontractors have been completing the many fine details of the finish work on site. The custom cabinetry throughout the building is beautiful, the lighting looks amazing, and everything feels intentionally designed and built to last.
Unfortunately, the project is facing some further construction delays due to special fabricated anchors that attach the east wall of large windows to the foundation. The east wall cannot be installed without these anchors, which will not arrive on site until early September, about a month later than expected.
At this time, we’re planning for construction to be completed this fall and for the Sequim Library to open in late fall. NOLS will be excited to share more information when opening dates can be confirmed!
Although delays are disappointing, there are some benefits. The Library is getting more time to plan for the big move from the temporary space to the new library and develop new procedures for the new space. The construction contractors are less rushed as they wrap-up their work and address any unexpected issues.
