Due to delays of a few critical elements—such as large storefront windows for the front and back walls and custom sliding glass doors to divide the meeting room—construction work will continue longer than initially expected. Once construction is complete, it will take about a month for NOLS to move into the new space and get situated. At this time, the new Sequim Library is expected to open to the public by early August.

While delays are unfortunate, they are not unexpected during a project of this scale and we’re still very excited about all of the work getting done on the site. It’s looking great!

The metal roof has been completed and contractors are preparing for the solar panels that will cover the south half of the roof. Window installation is in progress and cedar siding will soon follow.

Most interior walls are now covered and the drywall installers are busy taping and mudding. There are several curved walls in the building that take a lot of skill and close attention to detail. Additionally, the first light fixtures have been installed and turned on!
