About the Collection

In 1970, Bert Kellogg donated a collection of over 5,000 photos and negatives from the late 19th and early 20th centuries to the North Olympic Library System. Mr. Kellogg worked for 30 years copying and restoring photos that he borrowed from old timers, found in old trunks, or purchased at rummage sales.

The collection includes photographs of pioneers, trains, Native Americans, ships, logging, and views of early towns and sites in Clallam County as well as some other Washington communities. More than 4,000 of the Kellogg photos are available for viewing at the Washington Rural Heritage website.

The collection is also available in slide sets and in photo albums.
