Resilience Kits

NOLS is celebrating Resilience Month by offering FREE Resilience Kits through Curbside Pickup, beginning Monday, October 5. The kits provide a variety of activities and tools to help build resilience and support self-care.

Psychologists define resilience as adaptation in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, or significant sources of stress. The American Psychological Association recommends the following to build individual and community resilience:

  • Build your connections by prioritizing relationships.
  • Foster wellness by practicing mindfulness, avoiding negative outlets, and taking care of your body.
  • Find purpose by looking for opportunities of self-discovery, moving towards goals, being proactive, and helping others.
  • Embrace healthy thoughts by learning from your past, maintaining a hopeful outlook, and accepting change.

Want more on resiliency? The Clallam Resilience Project and partners are offering a series of resilience-themed workshops including A.C.E.S, Trauma 101, Resiliency, and Secondary Trauma & Self Care.

This program is generously supported by the Port Angeles Friends of the Library, Friends of Sequim Library, Friends of the Forks Library, and the Clallam Bay Friends of the Library.
