Publication Date: June, 2021

Summer days are on the way, which is great news for readers. NOLS’ Summer Reading Program offers the chance to win prizes just for reading! This annual program is a great way to encourage reluctant readers to consider making reading a daily habit. Anyone – from babies to grown-ups – can participate in the fun, free program.

Sign up starting June 14 at nols.org and track your reading using the online reading tracker. After 30 days (and again at 60 days), you will receive an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. Each NOLS branch will draw winning tickets for kids, teens, and adults, with a choice of a $100 gift certificate to a local restaurant or bookstore, or a LEGO® set of the winner’s choice (up to $100 in value). A limited edition Summer Reading Challenge T-shirt is earned after reading for 30 days! Visit nols.org or call the library to learn more about fun programs happening throughout the summer, like the StoryWalk® currently installed at Margaret Kirner Park located at 4th Avenue and Pine Street in Sequim.

If you’re looking for something to read this summer, check out downloadable eBooks and eAudiobooks available through the Libby app, or download movies, music, and audiobooks through the hoopla app. These resources are available for free with your library card. If you don’t have a NOLS card, it’s easy to get a temporary one online at www.nols.org/library-card. Stop by the library to complete your registration, pick up your new library card, and browse the shelves for something new to bring home. Here are a few of the books you might find at the Sequim Branch:
