Junior Science Explorers

Junior Science Explorers, a program designed for children ages 4-6 and their caregivers, will nurture your child’s natural sense of adventure and curiosity, encourage your child to be a persistent problem solver, and introduce your child to basic elements of scientific reasoning with preschool and primary science activities.

Registration is required. All materials will be provided.

Presenter Christine Spaulding will introduce children to the scientific concept of air pressure in space. Participants will design and test the safety of a space suit for a marshmallow astronaut, observing what happens when put in a vacuum chamber.

Presenters from the Pacific Science Center will work with children to assemble a mini skeleton and explore the shape, movement, and function of bones and joints. Participants will also look at X-rays and examine real bone specimens.
