Port Angeles Main Library
The Port Angeles Main Library will celebrate a new Art in the Library exhibit on Friday, January 25, with their quarterly Art Blast! event. The Backwoods Hucksters will begin performing at 7pm, bringing a slightly psychedelic twist to their American Roots song bag into the heart of the library. Doors open at 6:30pm, so come early to check out the new art on display throughout the building and mingle with artists from the North Olympic Watercolorists! Refreshments will be served, and limited library services will be available during this free after-hours event.
About the Band
With members based throughout the Puget Sound, the Backwoods Hucksters are a blues band at its core. They weave together bluegrass, country, folk, rock and country blues into a tapestry of music they call “Mountain Blues.” The Hucksters feature Cort Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Sean Divine on harmonica and vocals, Jon Parry on fiddle and vocals, Paul Stehr-Green on bass, and Tom Svornich on drums.
Art in the Library
The opening reception for the new Art in the Library exhibit will be held at 6:30pm, immediately preceding the performance by the Backwoods Hucksters. This is an opportune time to meet the featured artists, enjoy refreshments, and view the new exhibit featuring work from the North Olympic Watercolorists (NOW). The group’s members represent a cross section of experience ranging from beginners to professionals. Artists include: Jolene Sanborn, Reiko Barclay, Beverly Beighle, Rita Heywood, Kathi Vito, Lyn Conlan, Roger Huntley, John Wilkinson, Carol Wilhelm, Shirley Rudolf, and Janet Flatley. This exhibit will be on display at the Port Angeles Main Library from January 25 through April 23.
Art Blast! is generously supported by the Port Angeles Friends of the Library.
