
The League of Women Voters of Clallam County and NOLS will facilitate three General Candidate Forums in October. Forums will be held via Zoom.
The League of Women Voters is a national nonpartisan, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the informed and active participation of citizens in government.
Tuesday, October 3, 4:30-7pm
Port of Port Angeles Commissioner District 3 4:30-5:15pm.
• Confirmed participants: Lee Whetham and Connie Beauvais.
City of Sequim Council Positions 1, 2, and 6 5:30-7pm.
• Council position No. 1—Confirmed participants: Kathy Downer and William Armacost.
• Council position No. 2—Confirmed participants: Jim Black and Dan Butler.
• Council position No. 6—Confirmed participants: Harmony Rutter and Patrick Day.
Thursday, October 12, 5:30-7pm
City of Port Angeles City Council Positions 5 and 7
• Council Position No. 5—Confirmed participants: Amy Miller and Jim Haguewood.
• Council Position No. 7—Confirmed participant: Kalli Mae Jones. Brendan Meyer has been contacted but is unable to attend.
No forum for Hospital District 1 Position No. 4 will occur as candidate Sandy Schier has been contacted but has not responded and candidate Amy Kitchel Ruble is not available to attend.
At each forum, participating candidates will be invited to provide their qualifications, state why they are running, and state their goals for the office, if elected. The forum moderator will then pose questions that have been provided by the public.
Community members and organizations are encouraged to submit questions to the League at info@lwvcla.org or mailed to League of Women Voters of Clallam County at PO Box 1092, Carlsborg, WA 98324. When submitting questions, please advise in which city or county you are registered to vote, and at which forum you wish your question to be asked. Preference will be given to questions received within 3 days prior to the forum, or 7 days prior to the forum if mailed to the PO Box. Questions received less than 3 days prior to the forum will be considered as time permits.

In addition to the candidate forums, VOTE411.org is the League’s online voter guide that is unbiased, relevant, and easy to use. Type in your address and get information on the candidates that you will find on your personal ballot, including Candidate answers to questions posed by our local League on the challenges and issues in our communities. Use the side-by-side comparison of answers to help you make informed voting decisions. The vote411.org voter guide with candidate answers will be available on October 9.
