Port Angeles Main Library

Celebrate the opening of a new Art in the Library exhibit on Friday, July 26, with their quarterly Art Blast! event. Seattle band COSMOS will begin performing at 7pm, bringing their groovy, spacey, jazzy-chord heavy hip-hop sound into the heart of the library. Doors open at 6:30pm, so come early to check out the new art on display throughout the building and mingle with artists!

Refreshments will be served and limited library services will be available during this free after-hours event.

About the Band

COSMOS consists of a collective of creatively gifted artists. They are more than a band — they are a multifaceted mixture of genres that will redefine your perception of Seattle’s sound through a blend of Hip-Hop, Jazz, Soul, and Electronic overtones. Listening to their interstellar beats and introspective lyrics will transport you to a higher dimension filled with nothing but free spirited vibrations. Because of this, their talents have the power to elevate your consciousness to inconceivable levels.

COSMOS has had a great couple years in Seattle playing at nationally renowned festivals such as Capitol Hill Block Party, Bumbershoot and Sasquatch! Music Festival to name a few. They initially garnered attention from winning EMP’s (now MoPOP) Battle of the Bands competition and since have been receiving attention all across the globe. In 2017, they were one of nine bands in the nation selected to be apart MUSICOLOGY — a battle of the bands event hosted at Prince’s Paisley Park Estate in Chanhassen, MN. To keep the momentum pushing, they released their debut mixtape “Moonshine” in March.

Art in the Library

The opening reception for the new Art in the Library exhibit will be held at 6:30pm, immediately preceding the performance by COSMOS. This is an opportune time to meet the featured artists, enjoy refreshments, and view the new exhibit featuring work from regional artists. This exhibit will be on display at the Port Angeles Main Library from July 26 through October 22.
