2016 Summer Reading Program
for Kids
June 20 — August 20

WALK, RUN, DANCE, BIKE, JUMP, AND SKIP your way to the Library this summer! Receive a free book when you sign up for the 2016 Summer Reading Challenge, and earn chances to win an awesome new bike as you read during your vacation.

Sign up beginning June 20 at your library and keep track of what you read until August 20 for chances to win!

Summer Reading Challenge
Ages 3-12

  1. Sign up at your nearest NOLS library, and receive a free book!
  2. Read (or be read-to) for 14 hours or more. Keep track of the time you spend reading!
  3. For every 14 hours you read, you will receive an entry into the Grand Prize drawing for a new bike.
  4. A special NOLS t-shirt will be awarded to everyone who reads for 100 hours!

A group of international performers will present traditional and contemporary dance and music from West Africa.

Creative Science with the Burke Museum

Explore science through art! The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture will present a special program for ages 3-5 that will have participants weaving, investigating, and exploring nature through a creative lens.

A puppet show staged by local teens!

Lawn Olympics

Teen volunteers will lead families and groups in fun lawn and outdoor games.

Pool Party Celebration!

Celebrate your summer reading achievement with a pool party!
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
