Check Out an eBook!
What's an ebook? An ebook is any book in digital format. The netLibrary collection includes reference books, travel guidebooks, legal and medical information, literary criticism, and books on many other subjects. How do you read an ebook? If you find an ebook that interests you in the NOLS WebPAC, you can click on the link in the URL field to go to the book summary at netLibrary. Then, if the book isn't already "checked out" to another patron, you can either browse it online or set up an account to check it out for up to 24 hours. If you're searching the Telnet or dial-up catalog, the URL won't be a link, but you can copy and paste it into your browser's address bar. Or you can go to netLibrary and search for the title there. NOTE: If you aren't in the library when you try linking from our catalog, you will need to have previously set up a netLibrary account in order to browse or check out the book. You can set up an account in the library or from the netLibrary link. To learn more about netLibrary, read the eBook QuickStart Guide, or call the NOLS reference desk at 360-417-8501.
