Support the Library

Support the Library!

The North Olympic Library System can’t rely on public funding alone. Private support in the form of gifts, grants, donations and volunteering help keep the Library strong and responsive to community needs. Here are several ways you can be a community library partner.

DonateDonate. You can make an online donation to NOLS. The Library is grateful for donations large and small. You can designate a specific purpose for your gift, such as children’s books or DVDs for the Forks Branch. You can donate in memory of a friend or loved one who has passed away, or in honor of a birthday, anniversary or other special event.

Besides donating online, you can also donate cash or by check. Please contact your Branch Manager or the Library Director at to discuss your preferences.

Volunteer. The staff can’t do it alone. Volunteers help make a good Library great! Volunteers play important roles throughout the Library, in every branch and every department. If you want to become more actively involved in the Library and have a rewarding volunteer experience, consider donating your time by participating in the Library’s vibrant volunteer program. And working in the Library means you’ll always have great reading material at hand! For more information, contact Volunteer Coordinator Emily Sly at or 360-417-8500, ext 7730.

Spring 2013 Volunteer News

Be a Friend. Become a member of your local Friends of the Library group, or donate your gently used books, music and movies to their used booksales. The Friends raise money to support programs for children and families and other purposes at each branch library.

The Forks Friends of the Library are currently raising money for a special project to renovate the Forks Branch Library and replace its roof. Click here for more information on how you can help.

North Olympic Library Foundation LogoMake a legacy gift. The North Olympic Library Foundation (NOLF) was recently formed by a small group of community volunteers. The purpose of NOLF is to complete the array of Library funding sources. The Foundation answers the desire of library lovers to provide the system with major gifts and bequests and to receive grants, in order to provide a reliable source of funding for system-wide and major capital and technology needs. For more information about NOLF, click here or contact the Library Director at or 360-417-8500, ext. 7715.

Library RE(a)D Wine Bottle

Library RE(a)DLibrary RE(a)D Wine Label

Support the North Olympic Library Foundation and enhance library services by purchasing a bottle of Library RE(a)D created by Wind Rose Cellars in Sequim.

Library RE(a)D is a 2010 red table wine in the Italian tradition, with flavors of black currant, blackberry and spice. The chocolate finish offers hints of coco and dark plum. Winemaker David Volmut suggests you pair it with hearty cuisine such as BBQ, venison, pork, lamb, portabella mushrooms or beef ribs, and a good book, of course!

Library RE(a)D is currently available for $28/bottle at Country Aire and Renaissance in Port Angeles, Red Rooster Grocery and Wind Rose Cellars in Sequim, and the Agnew Store. Wind Rose Cellars will donate $6 from every bottle to the North Olympic Library Foundation, the Port Townsend Library Foundation and the Jefferson County Library. For more information, go to windrosecellars.com or call 360-358-5469.
